About
I was told that just shortly after my birth in 1968, the first book I grabbed was an atlas, and since then it has been my favourite book. So the world was calling. Straight after an apprenticeship in construction, my travel life started. Norway was calling. Together with a friend, I went there for two months, in April 1989, in a VW-Kombi-Bus as travel greenhorn.
Quickly I developed a taste for travelling. In 1991, I started on my first long trip. Within a year I travelled trough New Zealand, Australia and Southeast Asia. While there, I learned the art of photography from photographer Karin Witschi. Back home in Switzerland I started with my first two slide shows: “Aotearoa – New Zealand” and “Australia”. Both shows are already in the fade over technique.
In 1996 I finished my studies in commercial business. While I was a student, I drove a taxi on Friday nights and continued travelling Switzerland with my Slide-Shows, now also in schools and for clubs and societies.
My wish for an “unlimited journey” grew bigger and bigger and I started out in 1997 for an indefinite period. It began in Johannesburg, South Africa only to end three years later in Mexico City, Mexico.
After two years back home in working life, a new challenge urged me. I was looking for something physical and mental. Finally I decided to paddle down the entire Mississippi River in a tiny kayak, from the source to the Gulf of Mexico within 80 days. A real adventure.
Back home now and dry again, after many hours on the light table, my two new productions are ready for you.
From my adventure down the Mississippi I have written almost 300 pages for my book – BACH AB, which tells to whole story down the River. An exciting and not ordinary story!
Since autumn 2003 I am first time after a break of 8 years on slideshow tour again. Its ended after 60 shows in dezember 2004!
In sumer 2004 I joined slowen ultra marathon swimer Martin Strel and his international team as a kayaker and rafter. He established a new worldrecord in marathon swiming of 4003km in Chinas Yangtze River in only 50 days!
2005 I paddled down the entire Danube from West Europe to East Europe. 48 days, 2840km.
2007 I accompanied Ultramarathonswimer Martin Strel again: This time in South America on the Amazon River for his new world record: 5268km
2008 My Fotoreport "Magic Scotland" was on Switzerland-Tour. More then 5000 came to the Show.
2009 My Second Tour with Scotland will be out in Spring. Before I will spend lots of time in Cuba again. |
