Mighty Mississippi
Who doesn’t know the Mississippi River from the Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn? Mark Twain gave Huck and Jim a journey down the river for days and days on a raft.
I chose a kayak to be my companion for this river trip. From the source in Lake Itasca in Northern Minnesota the River flows for 2,552 miles down into the Gulf of Mexico, near New Orleans in Louisiana.
For 80 days, I made the water of the longest river in North America to my road. From North to South, across the whole USA, I travelled all along the "third coast" of the country. I met so many interesting people along the river, but I had also some days just for let me, myself and I. The Mississippi River was a journey through myself.
There was a lot of pure nature, but also tiny little villages along the river, and later on big cities, only to follow by wide emptiness for days. As a reward New Orleans was waiting at the end with all its colours.
Come on this journey with me. Learn about my strains but also my pleasures. All this is in my current slide show "Down the Mississippi".
Folgende Casas Particulares kann ich bestens empfehlen. Ich habe alle mehrmals besucht und jeweils gut logiert.
